“After having a gastric bypass in March of 2000, I had a lot of loose skin from years of being overweight.  Being overweight caused my skin to lose its elasticity.  The skin hung from my stomach area and I had very saggy breasts.  Dr. Eckhardt's name was given to me by a former patient of his. After hearing experiences with him and seeing her after photos, I was impressed and set up an appointment for me.  I was told I had to lose my weight first from the gastric bypass before any reconstruction could be performed.  My first visit was on November 17, 2001.  I was interested in a tummy tuck, breast lift, augmentation, and hernia repair.  My husband and I watched videos of the procedures and then Dr. Eckhardt explained the procedures to us.  Dr. Eckhardt then worked with my insurance company to see what would be covered.  We set a tentative date for December 10th. “I had eye lid surgery for many reasons, mainly my vision when I drove my car. When I was passing a car and going to back into my lane, I would look to see if there was a safe distance in going back into my lane. I sometimes would not see the car I was passing; several times I almost caused an accident, which scared me. Also, when I looked up with my eyes, I would see my eyelids. They were so large. Some of my friends would call me ‘Old Bag Eyes.’ They said it only teasing, but I was very sensitive to the remark. I would look at myself in the mirror and they were right. “For a number of years I was an avid runner, the time spent pounding the pavement was taking a toll on my knees.
